The 13 year old son of CH Ross who is well known here was drowned at Colorado Spring, Col last Friday. He was bathing in an old quarry when he got beyond his depth and drowned before aid couls reach him. Mrs. Ross is the daughter of James Alfrey. - kbz
Note: Harrell A. Ross was born in Montgomery County, Indiana to Charles "Hawkins" Ross and wife, Louella Alfrey two days after Christmas in 1890 and passed away in ElPaso County, Colorado on the 29 April 1904 (Leap Year) - so sad - he was their only son - they had Helen, Margaret and Rose besides. I believe Louella was an only daughter (and perhaps even adopted) of James Alfrey and Mary Harrell. May have to check this out further. So sad :( He is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado
